"I love to build things. As a kid growing up, I was addicted to Legos, and would spend hours constructing vehicles and structures of all sorts. My father and grandfather were both talented creators, and I learned a lot working alongside the two of them.
I was a history major at UNH with a Studio Arts minor, and could be found often at the woodshop there making furniture. After college, I travelled and worked in different locations, seeing the world and learning from many gifted artisans.
I lived in Newport RI, and Port Townsend Wa, building and restoring wooden boats, and worked outside of NYC doing historic restoration carpentry. After settling back in the seacoast area of NH, I worked as a foreman for a successful contractor of high end homes.
In 2000, after roughly fifteen years working for some incredibly talented people, I started my own cabinetmaking business in the basement of our house. Four years later, I harvested the white pine to the south of our house, had the lumber sawn up, and built the barn on the property that now functions as the home of A. Wilson Designs, Inc.
Since then we have grown to a three man shop. I have four sons that all enjoy helping out and working in Daddy’s shop. I love what I do."
